Peak Hours/ Peak Time

Peak hours refer to the particular time period in a day when electricity unit price is charged more than the usual price. The another thing to be noted is the criteria of peak time is applied only on the consumers that has 3 phase connection. Single phase consumers do not lie under this criteria. In short, peak time is only apply on people with 3 phase connection.

The duration of peak hours lasts up to 4 hours and these are the hours when consumption of electricity is highest. That’s why electricity charges are also increased during these hours. The table given below contains the details about it:

    • Peak Hour Charges: Calculated separately based on the applicable rate and additional units consumed during peak hours, amounting to Rs 267.35.

Total Bill Calculation:

  • Sum up all the components:
    • Base Tariff + FAC + Taxes & Surcharges + Peak Hour Charges = Total Bill Amount

Final Result:

  • In this adjusted example, the total electricity bill for July 2023 would be Rs 3867.35.
